Diamonds - photo series - fine art print fixed on aluminium, 150x225cm - 2017

»The photograph shows an object smashed in an act of extreme violence. What you see in the image is a real natural diamond bursting into thousands of particles. The material which I used here is crucial. Diamonds are objects of desire, they are very precious, very expensive and hard to find. Moreover, diamonds are the hardest material in the world, tougher than any other substance known. Although the photograph documents the destruction of this specific material, it also opens up a new picture beyond the first glance. Micro becomes macro as a new kind of universe emerges from destruction.«
