Arms - series of 15 photos - fine-art print, each 100x250 cm - 2006

The work shows arms of politicians in various positions. The arms were used to support their ideologies and messages in public political events. International press photos were the origin of the used material in this work. Nasan Tur choosed to cut out the selected material to detach the gesture, a means of communication known to any culture, from its original context of political fomentation hiding its essential affiliation: the who, why, what and when of the scene. The detail shows gestures lacking their origin context.
